Thomas H. Wagner, III, 66, died September 19 in his Bally home surrounded by his loving family, following a valiant battle with kidney cancer. Born April 29, 1951 in Philadelphia, Tom was a son of the late Theresa (Barrett) and Thomas H. Wagner, Jr. He was the husband of Laurie Roat, who he married in May of this year.
Tom was a graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School and Temple University. He served his nation valiantly in the US Army for 22 years, first as an Airborne Ranger, later as a recruiter, and finally as a Combat Engineer with the 330th Engineers. Following that, Tom was active in several local patriotic organizations, including the Catholic War Vets, DAV, American Legion and the American Legion Riders. As a civilian, Tom excelled as a salesman for Chevrolet for over 20 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters Brianna Marie, Boyertown, Sydney Lynn Gregory, wife of Alfred, Pottstown, his former wife Angela Pio Wagner, Bally, and his sons, Thomas H. IV, and Michael J., both of Perkasie. He is also survived by a sister Sandy Henning, Lansdale, and a brother Joseph, Green Lane, as well as many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Tom’s life will be celebrated this Sunday, September 24 at 9:30am, Palm Legion, with a ceremonial Legion ride to Jim Thorpe. All riders are welcome, followed by a Celebration of his Life at the Palm Legion, 1400hrs. Everyone who considered Tom a friend or family is invited to attend.
