Age 59, of Reading, PA, recently Royersford, PA, passed away on February 23, 2019. Pat was the youngest and beloved son of John and Margaret McDevitt of Doylestown, PA, now deceased, and the brother of Joseph and John J., also deceased. Pat is survived by his brother, William McDevitt and sister-in-law Rose Azeles McDevitt, and his elder sister, Sr. Jean Margaret McDevitt, O.S.F. Pat’s presence in their lives will be missed.
Patrick loved animals, especially Siberian Huskies. Recently retired, Pat founded MaPaw Siberian Huskie Rescue Shelter, Royersford, and volunteered his services as Director including care of the Huskies and kennels for over 15 years. Earlier work experiences included his Car Detailing Shop and his own Home Service including painting and repairs. Most recently, he enjoyed working for the township of Royersford in maintenance and environment.
Families to whom Pat adopted Huskies deeply appreciated his kindness, and knowledge about the Husky breed, ability to educate families and his compassionate follow-up that fostered compatibility between dog and family. Overall, Pat had a subtle wit, a good work ethic and concern for others.
Most recently he attended Friedens Lutheran Church in Oley, PA. He was grateful to and for the community he came to know there. .
Pat’s life will be celebrated with love and thanksgiving in a Funeral Mass at Assisi House, 600 Red Hill Road, Aston, PA 19014 on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to:
